Five Months

For New Year's Eve we celebrated Jane's five month birthday. We didn't actually do anything to celebrate but it still made me really happy. Maybe because she was acting ornery for over a week and has just gotten back to normal. I can't believe how big she's grown already. We had her 4 month check up halfway through the month and the doctor said "she's growing a little faster than we normally like to see." That sounded like a bad thing so I questioned him and he just said something about breastfed babies growing fast. I assume he just meant that she is growing faster than the standard they set to make sure babies aren't growing too slow. He just worded it bad. At least I hope that's the case!

Here are some things about her:

Wearing size 3 diapers. Has lots of cute bows that she wears most days. Got a Bumbo for Christmas and loves to sit in it. Wears size 6 month clothes. Still likes to be swaddled to sleep. Doesn't giggle too much but melts your heart when she does. Responds to her name. More vocal. Besides being sick this month, she still sleeps pretty good at night. Hasn't rolled over since a month ago when she rolled over several times in two days. Is scratching everyone. Is a little bit more needy. Sleeps a little bit less during the day. Does OK in the car. Had her first Christmas. She got a baby swing, a baby carrier so mommy can wear her, a cute little lamb, and hair bows. Plus the Bambo. Also a book custom made about her name. She loves mommy. Doesn't poop as much. Is still only breast-fed. Does take a breast milk bottle every night before bed. Likes looking at herself in the mirror. Sometimes likes when Mom carries her in the baby wrap carrier, and sometimes fights it. Started playing with baby toys. Grabs everything around her. Spins around for tummy time instead of rolling over. Has everyone in this family smitten.

Here she is at five months!
