Sick

Lila is sick for the first time. She started coughing yesterday so we took her to the doctor to make sure she is ok. He said she has a viral common cold, so there is no medicine she can take or anything. It isn't too bad, she doesn't cough a lot, but it still is no fun for her parents. She sneezes a lot more and sometimes sounds really congested. Despite all this she has not been any more fussy than usual which is lucky. We sure love her and hope she gets better soon!

Mommy Neck

I have learned that being a mommy comes with new aches and pains. One of them is that I don't really have anything to lean against when I feed Lila in the middle of the night so sometimes my back hurts. But lately I have noticed my neck is getting pretty sore. I guess that's what happens when all you do is look down at the beautiful little baby in your arms. I sometimes have to pry my eyes away just so my head doesn't fall off my neck. She's just so pretty and changing so fast I don't want to miss anything. I love her!

1 Month

Lila has already grown so much. By her 3 day appointment she had already gained enough weight to get back to her birthweight, and by 2 weeks she had gained over a pound. She is wearing size 1 diapers. They are a bit big but we had so many blowouts with the newborn size we decided to upgrade her. We have taken pictures most days, but unfortunately missed her actual 1 month birthday. So here are a bunch of pictures, starting with the oldest and ending with the most recent. She is still beautiful!

Rainbow Chip

So for my birthday my mom asked what dessert I wanted when celebrating with my family. I wanted confetti cake with rainbow chip frosting. On Saturday night I got a text from my mom-- "They have discontinued rainbow chip frosting. :( What do you want instead?" WHAT?!?! I don't understand how a company would ever want to stop making the best frosting in the whole world. that rainbow chip texture just adds the perfect soft crunch to any cake. It's WOW. My mom was actually lucky enough to find a few cans left in Harmon's (after being unsuccessful at 3 other grocery stores), so I now have my own can to eat on whatever I want (my cake was frosted with regular vanilla and I got to add some additional frosting to my individual piece).

This could be my last tastings of rainbow chip frosting ever. Does anyone know what I can do to make Betty Crocker change her mind?
