Nick Turns Free!

Nick was excited for his birthday for more than a month before it happened. He even understood the concept that he was two, and on his birthday he would turn three. (If you couldn't tell, he didn't earn free entry into anything, but pronounces his new age "free").

Here are some things about him:

kind and sweet. is sad when others are sad. loves his sisters. hoards. steals. puts everything he can find into a bag. seems fixated on taking things and grouping them to make them his. eats a lot more than most three year olds. this includes sardines on crackers with cream cheese. good at riding his scooter. won't use pedals on a bike. favorite show is The Lion Guard. he loves screen time. sings along to most anything. has pretty good rhythm. is sleep deprived constantly because he refuses to go to bed at a normal time, then wakes up at 7:00 or earlier. recently kicked his binky habit (against his will). shares a room with Lila. likes to sleep in just his underwear. his pronunciation of that word sounds like "wonder wear." pronounces again "oh-gen". adds "just so you know" to the end of many of his proclamations. his best friend is Linley Yarn. knows all his colors, but no letters and counts 2-1-3.

For his birthday, we invited Linley's family to a bounce house with us. We had a lot of fun!

Then we ate Chick-fil-A for lunch!

Then we came home and made Nick's birthday cake. He picked chocolate!

Then we ate one of his favorites, red pasta for dinner. After that, we had grandma and grandpa and Nikenzie over for presents and cake and ice cream! Also, remember how I mentioned that Nick loves to steal things and stash them in strange places? Well, his candle in the shape of a large #3 went missing. I looked everywhere for it. So he ended up with NO candles on his cake! It was horrible!!! (Except Grandma was glad that there was no spit on her cake since he didn't blow all over it.) I found it a few days later in the freezer.
