Coast to Coast

Todd and I went from coast to coast last week! On Monday we spent the day at the Jersey shore with our friends Alex and Christina. We went from a nice day of sun and water to a long day of traveling to embark on a great trip of an Alaskan cruise! Quite literally we swam in the Atlantic Ocean on Monday, and boarded a ship on the Pacific Ocean the next. Probably the only time we'll do something like that our whole lives!

First we hung out at the beach and swam a bit. Then we went to the Atlantic City boardwalk. It was super hot so we decided to shop a bit in the indoor mall. Well, pretty much only high-end stores were there so we didn't actually do much shopping, but it was fun to look! We also almost walked right into Caesar's Casino connected to the mall. I guess we were just too tired to pay attention to where we were going. But we got a nice family photo by the statue of Ceasar!

The next day we got up bright and early for a 6 hour flight with baby girl Lila. Even waking up Lila more than 3 hours earlier than usual and flying through her nap time she only slept half an hour during the flight. It was a struggle but we made it. Unfortunately when we got to the airport we still had over 2 hours of waiting for everyone else's flights to get in. But it didn't seem too bad, the time in the airport went by fast.

Since it was mostly a travel day, we didn't take too many pictures. And we certainly weren't worried about taking pictures on the plane. But we did have to take a few of our traveling group. This first one might at first seem to be a picture of a random crowd, but in fact every single person in it is part of our group. And by part of, I mean there were still several other people that didn't make it into the picture. 39 is a lot of people to travel with! Then we took a private bus to the ship for our cruise! My grandma saved over $2000 by booking her own bus instead of paying for each person to go on the Carnival busses both ways. Whew!

After the stress of hoping everyone had the right documentation to get onboard, we finally got to start enjoying our cruise! Lila sees the water rushing by on her first boat ride, (free) sushi, and towel animals, oh my! Do you think Todd was tired by the end of the day?
